Praxis School offers an array of services for young people ages 14-21 supporting growth of academic and workforce preparation skills. Programming includes supervision in innovative and engaging experiences, inside and outside of the conventional classroom, where youth can work at their own pace on development of literacy skills (mathematics, reading, writing, science, financial, technology, and social studies) as well as workplace and life skills necessary for successful post-secondary life.
Praxis School supports young people to graduate from high school and to make valuable connections to work and post secondary training opportunities in the community. By offering sheltered internships or apprenticeships in a variety of career pathways (green construction, nutrition and culinary, technology and media) the youth can gain invaluable training, potential pay, and skills that will adequately prepare them for future college and employment.
Praxis School instructors are also coaches and advisors. These caring adults work closely with students in a variety of ways including one-on-one coaching, small and large instructional groups, in face-to-face and online settings to provide them with interactive, engaging, and relevant educational experiences. In this way, youth are encouraged to re-connect with school and gain the skills they need to find success in life, school, and work. Praxis teachers and advisors provide technological and human resources such as laptop computers, mentoring and coaching.
